Lesha Maria Rodriguez: Oaxaca

Lesha Rodriguez is instructor of Digital Arts and Media at Hartnell College. She was born and raised in Salinas and is a graduate of Hartnell College. She earned her B.A. in Art History at the University of California, Santa Cruz and then her M.F.A. at the University of California, San Diego. Over a period of years, she has traveled frequently to Mexico recording and documenting customs, and rituals in extensive series of photographs and mixed media. Lesha adds:
I am always looking and learning new technology not only adding to my practice, but to share with my students. 

The works in this exhibition are from three aspects of my recent work.
• Lumen Prints of Native and Indigenous plants of Oaxaca (2008 – 2019)
• Traditional regalia of traditional dress in the 8 regions in Oaxaca (2009 – 2019)
• The customs and daily practices surrounding rituals and ceremonies involving traditions around festivals (2006 – 2019)
