Bailando con la Muerte
An annual Dia de los Muertos celebration and exhibition entitled Bailando con la Muerte / Dancing with Death, brings works by local dancers, poets, and visual artists together with the community and campus. Each fall since 1996, under the leadership of Hartnell instructor and community liaison Trish Sullivan, students and the community prepare altars to honor the dead. In addition, painting, sculpture from local artists, the Hartnell College collection and other installations link contemporary and traditional forms. Performances of dance and music often add visual and dramatic elements to the exhibition.
